January recap:
January was fun, filled with new discoveries as the children learned about Winter Animals and Hibernation. We discussed the cold climate in the classes and learned about snow and ice. They even got to create their snow during our enrichment activities.
The month’s book was The Mitten, and the children learned all about the meaning of scarcity and what happens when there is not enough of something. Our classes also learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and the importance of diversity. The children also learned while people might look different on the outside, we are all the same on the inside.
The children learned about Beethoven and how he shaped classical music for their music enrichment class. For Art, the children learned about Vincent Van Gogh, his art style, and his lifestyle. The children created lots of fun, fulfilling activities in cooking class; they used their fine motor skills by measuring out and mixing everything. The children reviewed their letters from “A-E” for Spanish style and sang songs about the cold weather. Lastly, the children continued their self-pace tracking through language, math, and reading in computer class.
